New Zealand children?
Racehorses?
Shamefully stereotyping you, WW2 armaments?
Theoretical subatomic particles?

Yo-yo techniques?
Pirate names rejected by Edward Teach?
Cocktails that didn't catch on?
Con tricks of the 1800s?

All these suggestions are good... but Sophia got closest. They're all individual aircraft names. I took out "Enola Gay" and "Flak Bait" because it would have made it too easy.

I like the Iain M Banks quality that some of them have... "Necessary Evil" and "The Great Artiste" are right up there with Culture ships like "What are the Civilian Applications" and "Grey Area".

Hahaha, WW2 aircraft, in fact? And there was me feeling bad for stereotyping you!;-)

Racehorses, cocktails and 19th century con tricks are all good answers though.
