Mad, but harmless

A set of rather nice essays about the alchemical metals - quicksilver, gold, silver, copper, iron, tin and lead - and their relationships to the seven astrological planets. Although of course I thoroughly disapprove of astrology (harrumph) the articles are nicely-written and have a lot of stuff that makes you go 'hmm'. I didn't know, for example, that women have more copper in their blood than men, while men have more iron; thus fitting the assignation of iron to Mars and copper to Venus. Have a look. Especially interesting for people who have read 'Quicksilver'. If you haven't, read it. It's dead good.
