Incompetent Design

Ready for the science bit? (as grif would say) A geologist in Massachusetts has joined in the evolution debate by suggesting the theory of Incompetent Design, on the grounds that
there are certainly all kinds of stupidity in our design. No self-respecting engineering student would make the kinds of dumb mistakes that are built into us.
He is specifically angry about the human spine (too bent), the eyes (retina in backwards), the teeth (too many) and the sinuses (don't drain properly).

Interesting point of view: I am now finding myself thinking of all sorts of other things about the human body that are manifestly the handiwork of an Incompetent Designer. Or Blind Drunk Watchmaker, if you will.

List your favourite (or rather least favourite) if you want. Mine are the knees - my own are definitely getting a bit creaky and it's rather beginning to annoy me.

Oh, and your insult today is Ophicleides, used in "The Shooting Star" to some conniving fuel oil salesmen. Meaning: not, as I first guessed, some sort of prehistoric reptile, but a kind of musical instrument that looks like an anorexic tuba. Example of use: God only knows. Not even sure how to pronounce it. Oh-fick-lide, probably.

How about the unreliability of the female orgasm?
